The Alexander Technique and Axial SpA
I'm offering free introductory sessions for people living with Axial SpA
People living with Axial SpA are welcome to come for a free one-to-one introductory session with me. I am also going to be starting a group class on the last Thursday of the month, 6 to 8pm. The first one will be on September 26th.
"Axial Spondyloarthritis (axial SpA) is an inflammatory arthritis where the main symptom is back pain. Axial spondyloarthritis is an umbrella term and it includes Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS)."
National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society
I ran a workshop, sponsored by NASS – the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society – to see if the Alexander Technique could help people living with AS. There were four Alexander teachers, a member of NASS staff, and eleven NASS members.
“the team was great – it felt like a very safe space” –
“fabulous experience” - “commitment and expertise of the teachers couldn’t
be faulted” – “lovely way to feel at ease” – “excellent session”
The workshop was a success; the members who attended gave a lot of positive feedback. Comments included
“I learned how to get in and out of a chair without pain”
“what a great introduction”
